I currently am using a Marklin 6667A 16VA analog transformer to turn on and off a Marklin 1071 Electromotor which I have connected to a pulley on an erector windmill. This transformer also controls the speed. Is there any other device I could use besides this transformer to turn the motor on and off and control the speed of this motor?

What you are using sounds perfect for the job, why do you feel you might something else?

That could make it easier to answer your question.

Hi
As Cookee_nz stated these motors were made to use with AC current.
There are universal current motors running on both AC and DC (in case you have in mind to use switched power supply like the 60061).
The only thing to check, when running on DC is the current and signs of excessive warming (because using DC, only the internal resistor of winding will limit the current so it will increase a little compared with AC operation)
Cheers
Jean.
