I was recently in St. Paul for a wedding and had a few hours to visit the Twin City RR Museum. Was surprised when entering that the first layout I saw was Z-scale (Marklin) and the 2nd was HO - M track. Very much enjoyed everything displayed and had a pleasant discussion with one member about Marx trains. Marx is no longer in business but their business model was similar to My World (simple design, low cost, target children and allow them to imagine away). Anyone visiting Minneapolis/St. Paul should try to visit.

Here are some pictures

Did you take any pictures of the Z-scale layout too?

That HO layout does look impressive.

Do you remember the song that they played in the shop (I only went to the one by Central Park). The tune was so annoying as you couldn't get it out of your brain for days!

My first set and additional tracks and cars came from FAO Schwartz. The salesperson at the Manhattan store was extremely knowledgeable of Marklin and it was always fun to shop there. But, that was many years ago.

Hi David. No, I don't remember the tune at all and whenever I was nearby I always went in to see it. Yes, that one on 5th and 59th street is the flagship store, yes diagonally across from

the park.

Cheers! Peter BigGrin

So it is! Mea Culpa.Blushing

(I should have read the captions; I clicked on the first and looked at them in the viewer - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Harvey, thanks for posting the photos.

Note that the museum is closer to Minneapolis (but between the two cities). Along the green light rail line but in December, may be too far to walk from the station to the museum.
