Help with a Curious Märklin Digital Book
I have been going through some old Märklin items with an eye to selling them to buy new stuff.
In my storage area I can across an **English language** book, “Getting Started with Märklin Digital,” published by Märklin in 1994, item 0308. However, when you search (even at Märklin’s website) for this title you get a **German language** book with a German title and part number 0308 that looks otherwise identical.
Can anybody lead me to path to find out about the English edition?? What it might be worth??

Not very much, if anything at all. In the past 25 years it has been superseded by more up to date Maerklin publications. Jabez |

Why don't you want the available new book about Märklin digital? https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/03092The old book is used and even more expensive. https://www.ebay.de/itm/...erung-0308-/153237507100

Marklin produced this book in both German and English. I have the German edition even though I can't read it. I do have an entire Google derived translation of the book which I came across on the internet some time ago.
The book still has some relevant information such as how to digitally control a 7051 crane with K83/K84 decoders.
If you still use the 6021 generation of controllers then the entire book will still be relevant.
Value is probably in the $10 to $20 range.

I have both the New "Running Trains Digitally with the Central Station 3" item 03092 in english and the "Getting Started with Marklin Digital - the multi-train control system" item 0308 in english as well.
There really looks to be very little "comparison" between them as it's mostly a "contrast" since they cover very different generations of digital items and concepts. Obviously based around the times they were each published.
I'd say the books are "the same" in that they both layout all (or a comprehensive list) of the components in the Digital system at the time of publishing with a surprisingly clear write up of each and how to implement/set them up.
The 0308 is certainly replaced by the new 03092 though many of the wiring methods and component description are laid out in more detail in the 0308.
As for your question of worth... use eBay. The prices on this older book have fluctuated widely over the past couple of years.

The 03092 is about the new controller CS 3, nothing for wiring a layout. But on pages 181 to 183 of 03092 you find an overview which elder devices are useable with a CS 3 too. For wiring Maerklin published other articles and videos. https://www.maerklin.de/.../MM_Verkabelung_2013.pdfhttps://www.maerklin.de/...etrieb_MM_2012_05_06.pdfhttps://www.youtube.com/...49pRQ?view_as=subscriber
