Hi guys Cool

I am increasingly considering buying a cs3+, knowing that the new layout in 2020 will be bigger than the one I built in 2018-2019.

I don't know if I'll keep the cs2 or sell it. I still have 3 boosters 60175. So I'll see next year.

As the current layout will only be dismantled from January 2020, I will have fun with it until then and will learn about the cs3 +....if I buy it.

I have a lot of questions about LDT's RM-88-N-O Feedback Modules.

Marklin talks a lot about the 60881 or 60883 decoder.

If I understood correctly, I can eliminate the 60883 decoder, it is necessary for cs3 60226. It's not her I want.

I went through the LDT site and from what I understood (if I understood correctly), it is that the modules Rm-88-N - O can be connected directly to the S88 output of the cs3+, since these modules can be received from 12 volt .

Therefore, an adapter cable 60884 is required. So to buy.

What I want is simple: I don't want a 60081 decoder or another Marklin bidule with LDT modules.

So I ask the specialists if what I want is correct.

Thank you for your answers

I connect my RM-88-N-O chain to the CS2 using the following products from Tams:

1 x S88-15 (short 15cm Wire)
1 x S88-A-SL (Adapter)

Then, all I need are standard Ethernet patch cables between the units, and I have no problems with speed, interference etc.

So far, I have approx. 100 meters of track. I always use TrainController on a PC for control. I see no reason to go for a CS3 until the CS2 is broken. I will probably need to upgrade my PC before that.

Hi PeFuCool

The night is full of advice and this morning, I had decided to give up the cs3+.

And anyway, as announced in my thread "Neudstadt-Laurentides III", we are moving next year

Hello! I could not use LDT with CS3+, so I sold all and I turned all to new Märklin S88 system

The Märklin S88 AC ( 60881 ) does the same sort of work as the Littfinski LDT RM-88-N-O, correct. I didn't dig into the optical isolation of the LDT vs does the Märklin S88 AC also provide such isolation or does it even matter. Both can plug into the S88 port on the CS3+ I believe.

Trying to figure out your question, is it that you want to get to one brand of S88 modules only? IE only use LDT S88 modules and not any Märklin ones in the mix? That should be no problem I suspect, but folks that use the LDT modules will have more first hand advice.

I am using the CS3 with Ltd’s S88 feedback units. Mine are based on 5volt so I use Marklin’s link S88 device set for 5 volts.

If the latest Ltd S88 feedback units are based on 12 volts these should be able to work directly with the CS3 plus model. If connecting to the CS3 non plus model then the Marklin link S88 device will be needed.

Cool

Please note that CS2 has the old kind of s88 connector, but CS3 plus has the new smaller kind. So the connector cables are a bit different.
