Hello -
I am restoring my 3048 Steam Locomotive. The text on the side of the tender has been scratched such that some of the words are not legible Does anyone have a really clean image or can you just give me the text? I am making decals to restore the tender so I'd like to be as accurate as I can get. I can make out "Wasser 34 m3, Kohle 10t, Letzte Br. 2" and some other numbers, but I'm not sure of the spelling of "Gestangebauart: Je 1935"
Thanks for your help -
Jerry

Thanks,
HANNES Hannes, Here is the video that explains the "waterslide decal" process: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z8aVS3vMJu0Here is a link to purchase the decal transfer sheets: https://www.amazon.com/L...ywords=decal+paper+whiteAnother link for decal transfer sheets: https://www.amazon.com/L...ywords=decal+paper+whiteYou can go to www.testors.com to search for the "decal setting" and "decal solvent" solutions. I am using Adobe Photoshop to create the graphics from photos of my locomotives, freight and passenger cars. This usually involves using the relevant portion of the photo as a template for positioning the letters and numbers, and creating from scratch any logos that aren't included in the fonts that come with Photoshop and other software on my Windows computer system. Every decal is built at the native resolution of the photo (my iPhone saves images at 72dpi but the dimensions are in the range of 48x36 inches - or whatever are the dimensions to represent an image from a 5 megapixel camera close-up). Then, each image is re-sized to 1200dpi resolution and the actual dimensions of the graphic to be replaced. I have a good quality (but older) Epson inkjet printer that I will use to print the decals at 600dpi. I haven't produced any actual decals yet. I expect that having good technique with spray paint / clear coat will be critical to achieve optimum results. I hope this is helpful. Feel free to e-mail me to discuss other questions if you like. Gerardtkd@earthlink.netI have Spam blocking on the account but will clear your message within a day to answer your message. Best regards - Jerry

It might take a month or more because I am trying to create decals for all 29 of my locomotives. Thank you for making the time to shoot a great photo of your tender and sending it in the reply to my post! Very helpful! See my response to Hannes in this thread. I hope that 600dpi will produce good quality results when I do print up a sheet. If I get distracted and fail to send you the decals, send me an e-mail to prod me along! (With apologies in advance for the delay)! Appreciate your help - Jerry

Hi John, Not sure how to accomplish you sending me a private message with your e-mail address. I'd like to e-mail you the digital files for the lok and tender decals so you can see how the project is progressing. If we have other loks in common, I will send along decals for them too. Let me know. Jerry Originally Posted by: Gerard W.
