Hi,

Was just wondering if there is any worth-while reason to add your layout to your CS3 etc, if you use RocRail or other to run your system? Would it be a waste of time or nice to have?

Thanks

I did add it but although I only use the CS3 PLus I never really need the track board as all my turnouts etc work with an event.

Also it does take time to set up.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

It’s worth adding if you ever want to use an iPad or such to control the switches and signals.

Add some track and find out. You don't need to add everything to get an idea on what you can do.

Hi,

I tried to set-up a test track and it's a lot of faff. I suppose I could set-up my fiddle yard or one of the little stations as a test. I don't have an iPad and I am unlikely to use my phone for this.

Thanks

I have to say I found it much easier to set up the track plan on the CS2 and I prefer the style on the CS2. Given that I have CS3+ and CS2. The CS3 is the master but the track plan is on the CS2 and I have it constantly displayed. I used it all the time for controlling points, signals and uncoupling rails.

Hello,

As you know I am a Rocrail user.

I use the 'layout' of my CS2 for only one reason: Check that all s88 entries work fine before using them with Rocrail.
As a result, I don't model the real layout. Only the S88 entries, with a number of lines equals to the number of S88 modules, each line having 16 entries.

It is mainly used during the building phase of the layout, and during operations if something goes wrong and I'm suspicious about one S88 module/contact.

Cheers
Fabrice

Thanks, some good input. I think, for the sake of being able to manually operate points, and having an over-view, I will add the layout to the Central Station as well.
