Has anyone tried to change out the built in solenoid drives for this switch with servos? This is the only K track switch that is only available with the built in solenoids.

Good point (s, - pardon my pun ) Something I have pondered for a while and would like to change on some of my 3-way switches. As you say, all the other points problems can be overcome by various workarounds. Look forward to seeing any information. Regards, PJ

I guess I'm not the only one interested in this conversion, but not a lot of information using Google search to see if anyone has done it successfully. By looking at it I can only think of putting the piano wire from the servo into each of the two clear bushings if I can drill a small enough hole without destroying the bushing. I have all of my K track switches converted now except for these 3 way units and 3 others due to having received a faulty new ESU Switchpilot Servo this week that will not recognize/communicate with the CS2. I can change the address with the Lokprogrammer, but after 2 or 3 activations of the servo all communication ends. Always something! Anyway back on topic, if I could convert these 3 way switches I may also be able to solve my other problem with these switches of the points moving upward due to the loco magnets (for reed switch sensors) and shorting out. Hello Peter: I don't have a final solution yet but I have been working on using servos for a three way switch also. When I removed the solenoid motors I left "pads" and the extensions. I haven't yet decided to try to use the central clear hole (very small) or perhaps a "bell-crank" design with the side extension. Hopefully a good solution will present itself! Cheers, Steve.
