I have the opportunity to pick-up a Lufthansa Airport Express set (#2868) from a friend. My understanding is that this is a analog set. What decoder or parts should be used to convert this set to digitial? Thanks in advance.

I think that the digital set is 2668. The 2868 set is indeed analogue.
I believe this is the set with a Br103 electric loco? If so you will need the Marklin 60921 conversion kit, or the cheaper 60760 kit if you don't need MFX.
Other options are available if you don't mind using other manufacturers products.
