The European Train Enthusiasts, New England Chapter is sponsoring EUROEAST this weekend at the Amherst Railway Society Show. The EUROEAST are in the Mallary Complex will feature the club's modular layouts, vendors of European models, seminars and is hosting representatives from Marklin.

NELUG's, New England Lego Users Group, layout is located next to EUROEAST if you'd like to see something different and your kids will love it. The trains they build within the constraint of the LEGO system are stunning.

Show hours are:
Saturday January 26, 2019 - 9:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday January 27, 2019 - 10:00am - 5:00pm

The show is located at:
The Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds
1305 Memorial Avenue
West Springfield MA. 01089

I'll be going on Sunday, hopefully getting there by 11am. Even if your focus is on European trains it is worth attending the scope and variety of the many club layouts is astounding.

Regards,
Roger

Hi Mark and everyone- great seeing you at the show!

Show report is that it really was great as usual. Simply an excellent manufacturer presence, and lots of chances to ask questions and get face time with folks who do amazing products in the scenery, building kit, and other arenas.

In the shopping department, Mark was not kidding above about a lot of Marklin and Euro trains for sale by the ETE. The club had what looked like several MASSIVE collections on sale. For "collectors" there didn't really seem to be anything rare, but for modellers and runners there was literally tons to choose from, and in great shape. From this lot I picked up 5-6 misc passenger cars to complete consists I had cars missing from.

ETE area aside, there was a little more european stuff than usual. The ebay seller "trainz" brought a ton of DC Roco and similar, which I can only describe as being descended upon by vultures. By the time I discovered their stand around 11am saturday, there were people to the point of elbowing each other and what trains were left were in a complete disarray. At least this show people run European! And then from there there was practically nothing else. I did buy about 20 herpa/wiking etc... model cars, and a locomotive for a painting project I've been wanting to do (more on that later)

A great show, and for those who did not attend I"d always recommend it.
