Hm, the ICE 4 is not out of the box 360mm R1 running.... only R2... Quote:Both pantographs on the service car can be raised and lowered separately as a digital function. The minimum radius for operation is 437.5 mm / 17-1/4“. Running the train on Radius 1 is also an option if you ignore the clearance gauge. Now I just have to wait on the german catalog so I can read the original text to understand what the heck a " clearance gauge" is .. I assume some sort of trim? (the lower trim bits). Presumably without having to Dremel something. But it does have digitally controlled pantographs, so thats a plus. But then 'available 2nd half of 2020' to me means it would be nearly 2 years before this is in hand, if it all goes to plan with production etc. New for 2019, a thing we won't deliver until almost 2021... Its like CES! But hey that means I've got time to really save up... or just put the money in a stock fund now and thus get it all cheaper in 2020. My guess is that Märklin did this announcement as a defensive play. Since other makers have an ICE4 coming I assume that they wanted to declare "Hey, we have one coming too" just to keep possible customers from jumping to getting an alternate manufacturer as the only one or first to market. Makes sense, thought his really should just be part of the 2020 new items catalog. I can only assume there is some sort of Coca Cola marketing agreement between the firms in place, given the sheer volume of more Coke cars for various countries now. But there is that C-Track turntable finally... The blue 110.1 not the style I'm looking for (modernized 34402 ) ...so more waiting I guess. Hey, if I got everything in one year there'd be no reason to get excited about next years new items. |

I don't understand the price of the 39520 Fc 2x3/4 as it doesn't even have controlled pantographs nor Telex. The rods are like any other croco...
The ICE 4 is for 2020...

Many interesting items...
29861 Digital Starter Set includes a new release of the SBB class RE 474, which came out in 2008 as 39893 with soft drive sinus motor and no sound decoder, except for a signal horn sound board. Yes - those were the times that 39xxx meant sinus drive....
The new 29861 now has a full sound mfx decoder and 4 axles powered - I assume by a simple can motor. It would be interesting to compare the handling characteristics to the old sds version... I wonder whether the level of details of the starter set version will be similar to the 39893 – the pic looks very similar, and may actually have been a 39893 prototype. |

Nice catalogue, but not a lot for me. I guess that frees up money for the Ce 6/8I after all...

Prices are given in the 2nd last page of the German 2019 Neuheten - see the download link I posted above. The new ore car set for the BR44 is 36.99 euro per car - that works out to 887.76 euro for the full 24 car set! That's also hideous!

My guess is that the Re 474 will be a version of the ES64 F4 models, like the more recent MRCE SBB Cargo (39863) one, but painted in the colors of the Re 474. If it is repackaged NOS, it will still be 474 014. If it has a new number, new position of the 474 0XX markings and the correct window parts, it is probably just a repaint of the current ES64F4 form: http://www.rail-pictures...b-cargo-re-474-19160.jpghttp://www.bahnfotoschwe...alerie/picture.php?/2105Regards Mike C

It is going to be a relatively quiet year for me. The Roco Hupac/SBBCI "Nightpiercer" is definitely on the list.
Sad to see that there is no Hupac/BLS model from Roco or RailCare 486 for that matter.
As far as Maerklin, the FS Bz Eurofima will make a nice addition to the consist that I already have, with one Az, a SBB Am and then a bunch of FS Bz. I am still waiting for the SBB WRm in orange to complete that consist.
The OBB coaches in 28cm are interesting. We could eventually also see an OBB WRmz137 to complete that consist.
I don't know about the Zugkraft Aargau Re 4/4II. Without the matching NPZ EWI coaches, it won't look quite right. I would rather have seen a 1970s green version with silver roof (delivery condition) with light steel coaches or a set of RIC compartment coaches (to match the WRm in red).
When will Maerklin bring a mainline FS electric (E444 or similar)?
The DB middle entry coaches will be a nice addition for anybody modelling a branch line or regional traffic.
I like the Wascosa container car with "Giesendanner" containers and the "Schoeni/Planzer" trailers, but I am still waiting for my "Rinnen" and "Mainsped" ones. The T-3 Sdkmms are currently only authorized for containers and are no longer used for trailers.
While we are at it, I would love to see a Transport Michel Verscheure (B) or SAE Trasporti (IT) loaded car.
It would be nice to have a BR 103 for the Touristik train as well.
Can anybody tell me what is happening on P.2 of the New Items catalog?
They are trying to figure out how to couple a 1:93 German coach to a 1:87 Swiss one
Regards
Mike C

You are correct, this will technically be a re-issue of the 2017 MRCE 39863. |

The price development is interesting. The 42175 BLS EW IV passenger car set with SBB cab control car looks like a re-issue of the 42167 car set that was available as a Swiss export model in 2003. 42167 MSRP was €190 (I bought it for €135 at Lokshop), while the 42175 set now is at €359.99. Admittedly, now with interior leds and current-conducting couplers. And a pickup shoe. And white rather than yellow headlights. |

Morning,
Thank you for the link :)
What remains unclear for me is the turntable. Do we still need to do a hole to fit it or can it just be like the 7186 turntable?
On my side, it will be the golden Krok, the Colas Rail BR212 and the Y8000 from Roco.
Cheers.
Antoine

Well, a good year for my wallet it will be. Glaskasten and cars. Perhaps a Wurtt C Insider model and that's it. BTW, the turntable is indeed horrible. Regards |
German trains era I-II and selected III, era depends on the mood, mostly Maerklin but i can be heretic if needed XD, heresy is no longer an issue.. LOL |

Trix customers seem to be well supplied with more tank wagons, but the Marklin line seems to have missed out. Trix also gets the Br24 with the Br50 tender, I am surprised they haven't put the Trix Br35 from last year into the marklin lineup - I guess there are so many other items they have done for 160 years of Marklin, and the Swiss rail anniversary and all those coca Cola wagons and ...

Now they are acknowledging that any of the switch mode power supplies are 100-240 input, and the only difference is the power plug. Now we even get a UK version [/edit]
