That is the Südostbayernbahn dining coach. Interesting. Could there be more Südostbayernbahn themed coaches on the way?

I hadn't caught up with this celebration, but Marklin are doing a couple of starter sets in G1, complete with a CS3 to come out in 2019.

As someone who works in the business of avoiding new product leaks (automotive), I can say it is always the web team that makes this mistake while loading and testing the upcoming pages! A very cool set, which they should sell plenty of. I suspect we will learn about the rest of the catalog in the coming month or so... (although I'm still waiting on quite a few 2018 items!) |

Hm, the subject (Porsche) is interesting, but the execution (if the image is what the car is) is not: a plain freight car with a simplistic painted panel and a single old model car. I'd hoped they could do more than that. Granted, every company doesn't have a strong rail road tie in. A car carrier car with several model cars in double-decker fashion would have been more appealing to me, but given they are selling the sets with 2 cars on a flat car, maybe the didn't want to compete with that product. (image from https://www.facebook.com/maerklinmuseum ) Well, they are in keeping with what many previous Museum wagons have been, a suitably decorated box car with a road vehicle (usually a truck, this is the first car I can think of). I assume the Z gauge version comes in the "tobacco tin" at the back. It is also a long wheelbase boxcar, where it is often a standard length boxcar. I wonder what the packaging will be like, an imitation 5 gallon petrol tin anyone? I'm thinking of something to rival the oil drum they did for the Museum model a couple of years ago.

The lok had 3 headlights when in active duty! The third one was removed from the Museum lok, because it is actually a target for thieves of railroad artifacts ! And during its active service theses loks were used and repaired with all types of wheels! But of course if you prefer to use ignorance to justify to be "angry"...go ahead! |

The V320 is announced and the BR 44 not yet seen, except the picture. But not yet. I think, after Märklin has the original one standing in its yard in front of its new museum and old headquarter . It should be obvious, sooner or later the big one will be shrunk to H0 size. Then you may buy both. But do not forget, in 2019 the good old Big Boy will have its relaunch and coming back on the real tracks completely restored with real steam. A good chance to offer exactly this model again too.

The swiss crocodile mark 100 years next year. Ooooh hmmmmm that will be a difficult one to refuse ... But I reckon there will be a Br35 - a relabelled Br24 like was in the 2018 Trix NI, but not in the Marklin range as yet.

No V320 for me. It's not a steamlocomotive.
The BR 44 is an option. If they use the old molds and chassis I will probably pass. If it's a new construction, like they did with the BR 50, I will buy that one. |

The swiss crocodile mark 100 years next year. That is a big anniversary. The marketeer in me tells me they could do a series of anniversary crocs: Perhaps a tinplate replica of the original large scale crocs, a 3015 in retro packaging (despite all the similar models with different paint they haven't done this "original" yet...), and perhaps if the SBB is planning anything for the anniversary they can do a scale 1/87 variant to match the festivities. And if they do nothing exciting, I will make 2019 a year of another croc projects I've been waiting to do: - Converting a 3015 to digital - Painting that same 3015 a fantasy color- I've wanted one in red or a nice blue forever. (This sounds like a collector nightmare, but the donor locomotive has destroyed paint so the project is no loss...) Looking forward to seeing the new items... |

The swiss crocodile mark 100 years next year. Hi Steventrain, You confirm my prediction, thx. I met my dealer last week. We talked about new items for 2019. I told him that in Gauge 1 there was already 2 loks announced. He replied that in G1 there will be a bigger lok coming (and showed the approx. Size by hands). I said "a krok!? He was so surprised of my reply, he asked how i knew that, and if it was already on internet. He did not confirm it would be a krok, he just said it would be black. But his reaction showed that i might be right. He added that to order this surprise 7tem, you need first to buy another one. Enjoy your sunday Sank

Please do! I just received the magnet and decoder myself, I'm awaiting time to fool around with the paint (after a test run on a cheaper 3048 sell) and than I'll do it all once it is pulled apart. The LED idea has me curious! |

"The locomotive body was almost identical to the one of the Be 4/6 12302" (but looking at the pictures I think they meant 12301) so I guess in the foreseeable future we will see models of this family as well, based on the same body (even if it has inaccuracies as has happened in the past). That will explain how they expect to recoup development costs.
