I'm building a module for a local Euro modelling group and I'm making a little hill with a chapel at the top. What I need is a tutorial on how to make a mountain path up to that chapel.
Anybody have a suggestion?

I cut a 'groove' in the hilside to make a path zig-zag up the slope. I then painted it brown. The route the path takes is what is important. Imagine you are having to walk up the hill, you have to pick a route that is not too steep. You can see some of it in the first picture at https://cabin-layout.mixmox.com/2016/01/Distancesignals.html(click on the small image to get a bigger view) The path itself is usually bare. |

I would suggest doing what Dale suggests, and then for the path surface doing what was done in the last picture of this post to get a suitable looking path surface that would represent a reasonable walking track.

Well, I remembered to not worry about making a mistake and hacked into the foam and made a path up to the top of my little mountain. This is the result with uncovered foam. I keep forgetting to allow myself to fail, but I didn't fail.. This is the Chapel I'm using: 130243

Add a fence and some bushes at the sides and you have a footpath. Remember not to make it all one colour. Add weeds and a few small stones etc. Hope we can see the finished result. Have fun. |
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer. |

. I think the traditional method is to send a mule up first and note the route that it takes. |

in Africa, the elephants picked the ideal gradient over hills, and showed exactly where to build the first roads
