Hi,

My latest addition is station Reichenbach from Pola (B 651).

The oldest Quick-Pola catalog I have, is from 1968 and the kit is already listed in that catalog, with a nice picture of the 1:1 prototype.

Station Reichenbach in Switzerland, on the line Spiez-Kandersteg, was the real-world basis for this Pola kit.
The 1:1 station was built in 1964 and teared down in 2016-2017.

I really like the model and have been looking for this kit for quite some time and when I found it on a Spanish auction site, a dream came true.
The vivid colors, the roof terrace, the funny curtains, the charm of the sixties ... this all makes the kit so appealing.

Pola went bankrupt in 1997 and the Pola trademark and all the H0, N and G molds were taken over by Faller, but as far as I know Faller stopped production of the H0 kit Reichenbach but continued the N scale version of the station as Faller kit #232460.

I built the Pola kit and I'm actually pretty happy with the result ! Smile

The station was almost built straight out of the box.
I painted some parts (all the doors, the clock and the parasols) and added some Preiser figures.

Looks really good, but .... not sure about what the H&S people would say about having a gap in the fence on the roof ... Scared

@Alan, it must be the emergency exit. BigGrin

An almost identical kit was also in the Vau-Pe program (item #8216), this because Pola also used their molds to make parts for Vau-Pe.
And the Vau-Pe kit has the same weird gap in the fence, see picture of the Vau-Pe model that was posted on FAM.

it may have been in this forum, but a member's son was the station master at that station, and they lived in the apartment above. He remembers driving his tricycle about on the upper part!

Hi,
Way back in 1983, I built this kit as part of a layout I built commercially for an Australian company.
They were using the layout as a prize in a competition.

I think it was likely the Vau-pe version, as there were a lot of their kits available in Australia.

@Kimball, the Vau-Pe variant (Station Neustadt) did not have the parasols, at least not included in the kit.
And there are more small differences between these kits.
I think it is great that these companies Pola and Vau-Pe had such a good cooperation.
That the molds were used by both companies explains why there is no name or modelnumber on the baseplate of Pola models.

I found this picture on FAM.

I would like to find one of these. It closely resembles the station at Immensee!

That is a cool station. Looks like an ordinary residential house folks live in, that got built next to the tracks, that an extension and platform were built next to and connected to and converted the thing into a train station.

Finding an unbuilt kit won't be very easy but you never know.
These Pola kits were not produced in such large quantities as Faller kits
I was looking for an unbuilt kit for a year or so and found mine on an obscure Spanish auction site ('Todocoleccion').
It gets a prominent spot on my new TE layout, see the photo I took last week.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw Dale's station in that poor state, covered with dirt.Scared
But even that one can be restored in all its glory.
