Greetings Everyone:
My name is James and I'm a new member here. I'm covering new ground here, so please, forgive me if I make mistakes, but I could really use some help with programming the 76XXX digital signals with the CS2. I've followed the guidelines in the CS2 handbook, but I can't get the Hp1/Hp2 to stop flashing. The signal is hooked up properly, and I've followed the directions step by step, but when I enter the signal aspect, nothing happens... the signal just keeps changing back and forth... any suggestions?
Thanks James |

Hi James and welcome to the Forum.......
You may want to contact Dr. Tom Catherall at Maerklin USA (tom@marklin.com). He is the resident digital expert and should be able to help. There are lots of knowledgeable folks in this Forum who should also be able to give advice.

Actually we should be able to do this ourselves without Dr Catherall.. I would not mind seeing instructions for the eCOS too.. I last programmed my signals using the IB and I have never needed to reprogram them since they have been installed on the layout.. One day I may need to change the address and it would be good to see some instructions. |

Hello again;
I contacted the service dept. in Germany, and they pretty much said the same thing as the manual, but I finally solved the problem. I was trying to program the signal while a locomotive was sitting in the block area. My guess, the CS was trying to communicated with the signal and the Lok at the same time and got screwed-up. I moved the lok and tried again, and as they say, bingo, it worked fine. One thing of not though, I find that when I have a lok stop in front of the signal when red, after it turns green, the lok re-registers itself to the CS. Ok for one lok, but does't work with a consist. |

Hmm... If the lok is already in the list, it should not register it self again... Or does CS2 handle registration differently? |

Juhan:
I'm not sure what is going on, all I know is that on the controler, the MFX icon comes up as if it is registering again and it does it's thing (the MFX icon turns red like its registering) but while this is happening, the lok does not move, meanwhile the a second lok which is in the consist starts up and begins to push the first lok, ar rather it slides along until it's finished re-registering. I'll have to talk to mother M about this I think. |

Hello James!
I wonder one thing and it´s if signals are perhaps the first model which did become some problem by programming with CS...? Today you can see the signalbox if there is an red sign,that tells a new generation II that can been using for CS and CS2.

Hello again:
No there was no red sticker on the package that I know of... Is this because the signal was an older version? |

Yeah well I mentioned it to my dealer a couple of weeks ago and he played dumb.. So my guess is that the program must be over or Marklin is playing the "dealer pays shipping game again"! |
