A fixed layout one can visit in Essen Germany that has lots of German themes and European themes set somewhat back in time in the middle of last century.

Nice to see good use of what looks like C-track and generally of the stuff we can all do if we only had that much space.

Visited in 2018 but starting off with footage shot in 2013 when the layout was first getting built as well.

The name OktoRail actually means: It's "OK to Rail".

The layout shows the heavy industry in the area around Essen from mining of the iron ore, the making of steel through to the finished product, the cars, roll out of the factory in the other end.

A quite nice layout.

Very nice. I too like when the layouts are "within reach" of what I can do with my layout at home. Märklin exhibition layouts are often this way. I like that.

Hello Thomas, Tor,

Thomas, Thanks for posting the videos and Tor thanks for for explaining the name of the exhibit. OktoRail actually means: It's "OK to Rail".

Love the name and it seems very fitting for highlighting the mining of iron ore to metal production in the Essen.

I'm also very impressed that they are using the Marklin's HO scale C track program as I'm in the process of exchanging Marklin 's K track to C track.

Next time I have guests visiting my layout I’m going to say, “You need to check out this website:

http://www.oktorail.de/

OKtoRail because you can C the difference the track makes and it's OK to Rail.”

Regards,

Michel

Afraid not Eddie, it is quite a sizeable layout in a commercial warehouse. I visited it a few years ago, and it meanders back and forth. I must admit it tells its story well.
