Very basic question. I have recently acquired a collection of early Gauge 1 European trains. The the majority seem to date to pre-1920 from the limited information I've been able to find to this point, and most appear to be Marklin. Is there a source for specific information/model number that would help me organize them further. Reprints of original catalogues would be most helpful.

Hi Jon,

My recommendation would be the Schiffmann catalogues, but these are only available in German. Otherwise you may want to try Historytoy.com, or you might like to put some pictures up here so that we can help you identify them...

Yes, there are those of us here with some early catalogues but some clear detail images of what you have would be a good starting point to narrow things down. Especially any text markings and logos, both side views, top and underside all help. Give us something to work with ThumpUp
