The LS Models 2018 Nuremberg Flyer is posted on the lsmodels.com website. A PDF can be downloaded at eyro.ch http://www.eyro.ch/downl...news18/lsmodels_2018.pdf
The big news are the SBB pilot coaches, with most of the rest of the items already having been announced as planned items over the past year and a half.

As was the case last year, the flyer is heavy on SBB and OBB models. I don't know whether the German, Dutch and French models will be specified in other flyers. There was some LSM in the Lemke 2018 Flyer (Germany). I think the next German models will be the Rheingold 83 and the Tiziano IC consists.

I've been waiting for their ABE 540 for more years than I can count now. Any word if it is actually coming? That vs. the Piko one will be a choice to make. This model (whichever brand) will be my big purchase for the year, so I'm awaiting release and confirmation if quality/performance before shelling out $500+ on a loco/trailer/cars (update- I just saw the price has doubled since they first announced it to, so Piko it is for me)

Side note: I LOVE the new restaurant cars! But at what I"m assuming is a scale 1:87, who's cars will they match? If I remember right the Roco EWII are 1:93, as are the Lima and HAG ones?

Just my two cents here: I have bought a few LS Models in the past years. Yes, deliveries tend to linger indefinitely....but it's all worth the wait!
For example my two SBB diesels (Bm4/4 and Bm6/6) are just magnificent!
Excellent quality, unbelievable details, perfectly smooth running and robust enough that it can be used in regular service on a layout and not become a "Shelf queen"!
The few coaches I have purchased from them are of the same level. Just need fine tuning of the wheels' gauge and exclusive use of ROCO universal couplers

In brief : more than right value for money!

Cheers

Good to know! Another friend expressed the same, so maybe I will cough up the funds once the sets come out....

Can confirm the positive remarks about LSM. Their models are truly amazing and of high quality.

@ Mike C: you refer to the Lemke 2018 Flyer. Where did you find that on the web? Its not on the Lemke site.

The best sources for LSM/PiRATA/ACME information are:

Huenerbein.de
Memoba.at
Eyro.ch
Piratamodels.it

The Lemke Flyer is here: https://www.modellbahn-a...spekte/Lemke_NH_2018.pdf
It should also be on the Lemke site: http://www.lemkecollection.de/de/Neuheiten

There were flyers released for the French, Belgian and Austrian markets over the past few months. Those can be found at Memoba and Huenerbein.

Hi Mike,

Have you had experience with Hobby Train? The CIWL coaches look interesting to me.

Thanks,

The CIWL coaches are made by LSM. These are special versions made for Lemke for the German market and released under the Hobbytrain label. The quality is the same as the LSM versions.

I did not notice a price increase for the LSM RBe 4/4 (540) models. Perhaps there has been a change in the US prices due to exchange rates.

The duelling model announcements are the result of competition between the Swiss distributors KML (LSM) and Arwico (Piko). LSM announced the models of the railcars in 2010, but the models were always lower on the production priority list to other models. This year, Arwico commissioned the production of a series of models of this railcar with Piko. The entire production run will be paid for and distributed by Arwico. This prompted KML/LSM to move their models to the top of the production list (after the Bm 4/4) and they have bumped the RABDe Mirage trainsets down on the production list.

LSM has now also announced the future production of assorted pilot coaches that can be used with the railcar models, but unlike Piko, the pilot coach will not come in a set with the railcar. The other thing that I must state is that LSM has not announced the production of the intermediate coaches that would fit in a consist between RBe and pilot coach. Piko has announced sets including 1) one EWI A, one B and a 2) one AB and one B.

The decision between which model to buy is up to each modeller. I will probably order the RBe 540 from Piko and likely a RBe 540 from LSM, as well as one of the prototype series in green. I think that I will skip the red front and "Seetal" variants.

I wonder if anybody will buy a pair of LSM RBe 540s to do an Era V/VI push-pull with two railcars?

Regards

This brings up a question, the answer to which I could probably have sorted if I spoke German, but I don't: there seems to be a few variations of the blue and grey NPZ livery: red doors, yellow doors, red nose? Is there a simple explanation or a link where I can learn "whats what"?

I got my model a few months back from a European source. I don't know how frequently Reynauld's receives their back orders.
I would send them a polite email asking them for an update and send out discrete feelers to other sources asking them to let you know (if they have stock) when they are running low so that you can potentially order one before they run out.

Right now, the USD is pretty much on par with the CHF, so a Swiss dealer might not be a bad idea.

The possible model options for the NPZ version are as follows:

RBe 4/4 with old doors painted in yellow http://www.beretta-model...odelle_sbb_rbe1423_2.jpg
RBe 540 with new doors http://www.bahnbilder.de...bwagen-rbe-44-448001.jpg

AFAIK LSM has announced the model with new doors in NPZ colours with 2 different road numbers
They have not yet announced a model of the first variant in NPZ colours with the classic doors

Piko has also for the moment announced just the NPZ version with the modernized doors

LSM has announced a number of variants in green (Prototype/Series). Piko has just the regular series models.

Here are the options for the main series variants in Green:
Green with SBB + CFF
Green with <+> SBB CFF FFS
Green with <+> SBB CFF FFS and Red Faces
Green with <+> SBB CFF FFS and Seetal Face (Red with Yellow Stripes)

and NPZ:
RBe 4/4 NPZ with old doors
RBe 540 NPZ with new doors

See Lemaco models: http://www.messingers.ch...s/rar_RBe_4-4_SBB_04.JPG

The prototype models differ from the series models on the roof with different vents, notably above the entry doors and over the passenger compartment. None of the prototype units was converted into NPZ version. At least one of the prototype units was used in Seetal livery and one was used for shunting in Basel HB.
https://upload.wikimedia...g/1200px-DSF_RBe_4-4.jpg

Here is a document that I downloaded last week. It has information in many languages: lsmodels_RBe_4_4.pdf (439kb) downloaded 24 time(s).

Thanks Mike, both NPZ have the red nose after all. Then I'll simply go new doors regardless of maker, that way I can always use the Piko cars in between

Thanks Mike,

I got an answer from Modellbahn Lippe on the Bm4/4. They say LSM hasn't made that version yet but they expect it to be issued this year. I ordered it in 2015. Hope it is worth the wait.

Which version of the Bm 4/4 are you looking for? Mine is 17565 and I have had it for almost two months now.

Here is the list of the next models to be released in Feb/March 2018: https://www.huenerbein.d...folder_februar_maerz.pdf

The previous lists are here:
https://www.huenerbein.d...er_News_October_2017.pdf
https://www.huenerbein.d...ctober-november-2017.pdf

Roundhouse.ch has a list of in stock models here: http://www.roundhouse.ch..._HO_Schweizermodelle.htm

I hope that this helps

It is the 17665S.

If yours has sounds then someone failed to order mine.

At the time that the release of the model was announced, the budget was a little tight, so I ordered the model without sound. I think that the version with sound was not released at the same time.
I have found that a lot of American dealers are not keeping backorders of items that may have been ordered in 2010/2011 when LSM first announced models in their catalogue.
It can also happen that they may have made an order last fall and because the sound model was not available at that time, that it has to wait until they have sufficient items on order to justify another order.

I would check with Reynaulds once they return from the Toy Fair and ask them for an ETA on your model.

Regards
