Hi,
I recenly replaced my Edits Pro controller by an IB-Com and rewrote all the interface software on my pc.
Now I see that sometimes on those addresses that have DCC protocol, Function F9 and higher do not work.
I need to perform a factory reset on the IB-Com to get them back.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?

as far as I recall, the P50B command set that I use for commanding the Intellibox (one) never had the upper function commands implemented.
I think you can do some trick in which the next 8 can be activated via the next loco address.... |

I reprogrammed from P50 to Loconet and hence was able to access F9 and higher through just 1 address by using the DCC protocol. And it worked. It just sometimes stops working, after which I need to reset the IB-Com.
Not a big deal, but I want to fix it anyway.
I was running out of addresses using additional addresses for F5-F16 in Motorola protocol, therefore my switch to the IB-Com and DCC.

Gregor If you connect your IB to a PC through Loconet, then using a program like JMRI you can access any function number that is defined in the NMRA definitions - assuming your loco has the appropriate function to use.

The issue was that I could access the functions very well at one moment, but for an unknown reason at some point it would not work anymore and I needed a reset of the IB-Com to get it going again.
Anyway it is solved now after I changed the way of slot allocation. I used to ask for free slots using the xBF command. There I found that sometimes after an address had been allocated to a free slot (including confirmation), the IB-Com would still indicate the slot as available if the next request followed soon after the first. This sometimes lead to issues, where for instance the 4 addresses of an MFX loc would be allocated to slot 1,1,2 and 3. Placing a delay between the 4 requests helped, but slowed down the process. And the occasional issue with F9 and higher still remained.
Then I changed the method of slot allocation by using a more descriptive method of choosing a slot number myself and use the write slot command xEF to allocate an address to it. After that the issue with F9 and higher disappeared. Which is strange because my DCC locs would only get 1 address anyway using the old method. And the fact that the loc would run and react on F0-F8 proved that it got the right address.
So problem solved, just don't know why...
