Could anyone who owns a 37186 (royal blue Bavarian steam loco) please tell me what type of motor it has. There is no spare parts data sheet for this loco on the Marklin website so I cant work it out. A photo on the motor would be great along with comments on how it runs. Thanks in advance.

Hello Hobbit,
I have to get mine out of storage and then I'll post a photo on the forum. The motor a -5 pole drum colletor type-runs very well
The 37186 is identical to the 37184.There is a partslist of the latter on M's website.
Hope this helps

Thanks Guus, I would very much appreciate if you could get a photo "under the hood", because the literature at the time of its release stated that it has a "special" motor. Also the absence of spare parts data sheet, which quite frequenlty means that it was a Trix cooperation, is another reason and many Trix origin locos do not have Marklin motors.
I am hoping that it has a Falhaber motor, but I have not read that anywhere, so I wonder what they mean when they say that it has a "special motor".

I agree with Guus, for the technical information you could definately use the 37184 exploded view. It's completely identical. And, although it is not equipped with a special motor it runs pretty well. |

The motor is composed out of the following parts:
386820: rotor (blue mark) 386940: motor cover 389000: field magnet 516520: inductor 601460: pair of brushes
This is the same motor as supplied with the 60901/60921 kits. |

Thank you all for the quick and informative responses. Much appreciated. Perhaps we should now dress this elegant lady into her splenid royal outfit again before we cause any further distress.
I am sooo tempted to get this beatuy and to put her in front of Rheingold set 4228.
