Hello,

these is the common source code for linux based systems adapted to run on CS2. This is nothing particular and is known. CS2 is based on such a linux system.

The real OS for the CS2, which commands layout, keboards, memories etc is not contained in this source code.

So nothng to do for hackers [:p]

Hi,

can't aggree with Supermoee ...

cst2-linux-2.6.23.8-..> 21-Oct-2008 07:55 83K
cst2_can_drv-1.0.0.t..> 21-Oct-2008 07:55 43K
cst2_kernel-config-2..> 21-Oct-2008 07:55 27K
cst2_s88_drv-1.0.0.t..> 21-Oct-2008 07:55 15K
cst2_smartcard_drv-1..> 21-Oct-2008 07:55 28K
cst2_system-source-2..> 21-Oct-2008 08:57 284M

The download site offers CS2 specific code for the base S88-, CAN- and Smartcard drivers, gives insigths into the Hardware used in the CS2 and hints who helped Maerklin to develop the Systemsoftware and Hardware of the CS2 (just have a look into the Copyrights of the files and surf the Web).

These Files and the also published CAN protocol should give enough info to build a basic CAN-to-Loconet Gateway.

And what do you want to hack with the drivers of S88 and Smartcard reader?

With the can protocole I agree with you, there you can understand how the comunication works. But this linux source code is useless.

And who helped Märklin to do the Hardware and Software I already knew before biggrin But I still do not understand how this information can help hackers??confused

We are also using Kontron boards for our mobile computers, cool... Cool

And they are using a decent Linux too... biggrin

Kontron is a reliable manufacturer of hardware boards for embedded solutions, so this is an excellent choice by the M management.

Those who are into embedded devices and such maybe also know the German division by the name of JUMPtec, as they were called in the "old" days...
