Hi Marklin friends,

A nice opportunity to view a complete Marklin set with the original invoice and American newspaper from 1948.

Who can read the date on invoice? Is it 9/1945 - September 1945?

Hi Paul,

I think it reads 9/10/45. So October 9th 1945.

regards

Peter is correct. It is October 9th 1945. That is an awesome set. ThumpUp Have you tried to run it yet? Everything looks to be in great condition. Maybe when you get a chance you could post a few close ups of the engines and rolling stock. Thanks for showing.

Happy Model Railroading

Thank you I think you all are correct about the date. I didn't think there was another "/" in there but now I see it.

Haven't tried to run the set yet but I'd bet the engines will run with a few adjustments. Will post more photos and videos soon.

Best,

Paul

Yes it does appear to be missing the front truck and likely the front truck mount is broken as well.

Paul

PS. At this time I only have the photos - these photos came from the owner of the set. They may be sending in the set for restoration but I thought I'd share the photos here.
