SO installed my Seuthe #20 (3.5 mm). Soldered in the wire to the shoe and so fourth. Worked great off the bat but after a few days its less reliable. Basically its only working when the voltage spikes from switching the direction and not puffing smoke while running.

It recommends/calls 10-16V. My analog "blue" transformer is a 10V, i have a good amount of track and about 10 switches, but only 2 switches are hooked in at the moment. Im running the #3005 loco on their by itself and it does draw way more that the smaller loco. Could the problem just be that my transformer is on the bottom end of the recommendation and with the train and turnouts pulling power at the same time there's just not enough juice in the line. It smokes just fine with the Voltage spike, which i try to avoid as i don't want to bow the smoker.

I do have a 30V trans on the way regardless, so i guess ill see what happens, but i dont want to cause damage in case im missing something which is more likely Lol

thanks
mike

10VA is a bit on the low side for larger locos with smoke. It should be fine with a 30VA.

Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.
