thanks for sharing the photos, I wouldn't call it perfectly restored, when you look at the red paint job around the window, also the colour I think should be more beige but he most probably got the right colour code. I would have touched it up before offering it for sale.

and being restored some collectors would stay away from it because of the restoration job but regardless its a model anybody would like to have., as you rightly said: if you can afford it.

Your right. Now that i look again, the red paint round the windows is a bit of a stuff up. The internals look perfect though from what I could see. The stripe around the roof line isn't the best either.

i notice Ritter had a touched up one for sale for over 1000.00 euro I think.

Does not the top picture with red diamond box not show 11 july 2003 or is that something else. Just curious as to what those dates are in the adds. Eddie

Quite a high Price for a repainted DT 800.
This is not a vintage DT 800 !!!

I picked up a DT800 last week and it is beige. I wont say what I paid but was more than the 4 in the other post . But Im happy with it and it is not a repaint. As soon as I get a chance will post picture. Eddie Huh

I don't think buying a loco like this is purely based on price I think the more important part is its authenticity and some times a restoration job can in fact reduce the collector price but if its done professional there always will be buyers who either can afford it or are willing to buy it.
