Which passenger wagens could I hook up on my BR221 without creating a fantasy setup?

Are TEE sets possible? Is the HANS SACHS set possible? Somehow I think they don’t match the blue/beige paint of the loc. When I search photos the br221 keeps popping up in its red paintjob..

Which cars should I get ?!?

Hi!

See pictures #17 and #16 on this page:
http://www.bundesbahnzei...200%20Hochburg%20Luebeck

The transition from green and blue coaches (e.g. Hans Sachs) via "Popwagen" to cream/ocean blue took several years.

Do not use the BR 221 to push a push/pull train. But mixing different colours is no problem.
Regards
Tom

I don't think the Hans Sachs set would be appropriate. The BR221 in ocean blue is epoch IV and at that stage hauling standard passenger and freight consists.

Here are some pictures I found to give you some idea:

The passenger coaches appear to be a throw together mix of blue/cream and green UIC 26.4m cars.

Waw thanks for the link. A lot of mixing going on!

Are the green cars (pic 30) these cars: Marklin 8753+8754+8755 Umbauwagen ( https://www.maerklin.de/...ts/details/article/8753/ ) ? They seem to match. I love the way shorter wagens take curves in comparison to longer more modern wagens :)

What can I tell ya, by the time the loks were in that color scheme they had been put on a lot of freight service duty and on regional train routes for which photos are scarce.

apparently there was a service: BR221 was known to pull the short (2 carriages) TEE "Merkur", which ran from Stuttgart, Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark.

I probably base my train on that little setup! :)

Now since I am new to MRR and new to DRG-DB trains I am having a hard time linking photo's to actual marklin (or other) Z products :)

So thank you al for the given input!!

Hi Mikey,

These two pictures show the former 221 in their service in Greece.
