Good Morning Everyone,
As I am learning to crawl with the initial creation of my layout ( C-Track ), I am wondering what all it takes to make the 7286 TT fully operational using the CS3 controller. Do I still need the 7687 Retrofit Module? Does anyone have a clear wiring schematic of similar hookups?
Secondly, what issues should I be considering when selecting and powering track pieces on the roundhouse end of this TT, C-track, M-track, K-track ? Does it make any difference? Powering these tracks?
Any guidance is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
George

Hi George,

You need to select a decoder for your 7286 turntable(TT). This will allow your CS3 to drive the TT like switches.

There are multiple decoders for TT:
- Märklin 7687 (135€ at Modelshop Lippe)
- LFT TT DEC (115€ at Littfinsky webshop)
- DigitalBahn DSD 2010 (129€ in kit at DigitalBahn)
- others

I have selected a DSD2010 made by Digitabahn allowing an automatic operation including block control of the TT., sound, lighting, flashlight and signals.
On the other hand its installation is for serious Modeller (not 5 minutes easy job). In my case, it works in combination with Rocrail for a complete automatic operation.

I read that the Märklin decoder 7687 is rather expensive and it may lose its memory at times. On the other hand it is easy to install.

My TT in full automatic operation is here:
