I have used 7018 (for curves) and 7019 (straight) catenary lengths for my Märklin European M-track loop on my layout. Inevitably tho because the loop is long and odd-shaped, the catenary length does not match at the end of the loop. In this case would I use the 7014, 7015, and 7023 catenary pieces to accommodate and adjust for the odd non-matching length of the 7018 and 7019 catenary pieces? I am guessing that this is the purpose of the 7014, 7015, and 7023 pieces. Again, I hope that my question makes sense! Thanks.

Merci for your response! This is what I am doing...in a tunnel section of my layout I am running 2 parallel sections of catenary, overlapping them. Each overlapping section I then bend off and secure it with a catenary mast. This actually works, and nobody can see it in the tunnel!--John on the rainy Atlantic Coast

I don't remember whether using 7019 allows for parallel masts on R2 and 7018 on R1, but I do remember that in a standard curve, the masts would line up at the start and end of each curved section. What can easily be done in tunnels and hidden sections is to take a PC board, run a bare cable along a line that would line up with each track and then install that PC board inverted at the correct height to allow the pantograph blade to contact the wire. This is much cheaper than using actual catenary in a tunnel. There was also a company called Mader that used to make catenary for tunnels. Overlapping sections of catenary with a pull off mast are actually used in prototype where sections meet.
