Wow that is really nice condition. I am always amazed at the great condition people manage to find some of this stuff in. But I shudder to think what it may have cost.

Lovely set. I have a post war set of the 341-344. Three have silver/grey roofs and one has the green/grey coloured roof similar to yours. I wonder if the pre-war versions of these wagons tend to have the green/gray roofs.

Why do grown men play with trains? Their wives insist they are insane But their dreams they won't let down the drain 'Cause there ain't no thing so hard to lose as those disappearing railway blues. |

Mike Yes I believe this is true, coaches of the 40s and 50s have the gray drab roofs (un-lacquered) while the pre-war coaches have lacquered green/gray roofs. Paul |

I'm fairly sure that the green roofs are in fact blue/grey ones but where the factory applied lacquer has yellowed with age. Look on the underside of the roof to check.

Thanks, Paul. One of these wagons is back on the rails courtesy of your repro bogies. I pull them with my 3007/SK800 - the closest I can get to a pre-war train right now.
