I have been trying to find the instructions on how to open the FP7 of the 37500 Northlander. Usually I put them in a drawer to have easy access to them. The empty boxes go into bigger boxes in the attic. Haven't found it. I can’t find it by googeling or searching this forum either.
I assume there are adjustments for the sound and top speed inside, and not just the address setting.
Any help appreciated.

Here is a very good site with info on that model: http://www.saebonet.com/...og/sites/NonEU/37500.htmFrom what I can see, the shell is attached to the chassis by a screw from the underside of the locomotive, situated between the two axles, as seen here: http://www.camera-exchange.net/ebay/L1700379.JPGThe third photo shows the original decoder with the 8 dip switches to set the address 00-80 and the two pot controls that allow for adjustment of acceleration/deceleration and top speed. The sound module is mounted on the rear of the decoder board and the speaker is centrally located, as seen in photo 2 Regards Mike C

Thank you!
It is just that screw. Unfortunately I didn’t notice any change in the sound volume when I turned the usual adjustments clockwise or counterclockwise. I haven’t checked the top speed yet.

I don't have this model, so I don't know what adjustments, if any, are available for the sound. The pot controls (screws) on the main decoder board allow you to adjust the acceleration/deceleration and the top speed. Photo 2 shows the sound module side of the PC Boards. There are two additional pot controls. I do not know what features can be adjusted. This may be explained in more detail in the instructions for the model. The most likely would be volume and frequency (of "chuffs") or whatever they call the sound that diesels make.
Perhaps somebody who has this model and has tinkered with it can confirm or comment?
Regards
MC

Hi I just found my 37500 set and the instruction book is as follows.
On the PCB side with the address switches... Left pot (potentiometer) is the Acceleration and braking delay. Right pot is the Maximum speed. + is anti-clockwise for both pots.
On the other side. Left pot is Bell. Right pot is Horn + is Clockwise for both pots.
Hope this helps. Regards, Colin.
