Very nice Lutz, thanks for posting the pictures! I was going to ask if these had the chassis milled for a speaker. |

The model is prepared for installing a speaker as Lutz shows, yes. Maybe this indicates that there may be a more "full-blown" version coming some time.

Hi Lutz, great photos and info! In the top photos what are the carriages behind the 36421 DR Ludmilla? Are they the Roco Halberstadt carraiges?

Since the first Ludmilla was build in 1973, we can be pretty sure that there will be no era 3 version of the Ludmilla, simply because it did not exist in era 3. Buuut the Ludmilla was build in 1973, I would say you could use her on your era 3 layout. Hey it's just three years. If you want it, go buy it! Ludmilla was build by October Revolution in Russia from 1973 to 1982. A total of 709 units were build to the Deutsche Reichbahn. Today about 190 is in service. The Märklin edition is the 132 629-7. She was build in 1980 and her home was Reichenbach (Vogtl). In 1990 she was re-introduced as 232 629-6 and in service until 2004 where she was parked at AW Cottbus. I have not been able to find any pictures of her at AW Cottbus and I don't know what happened to her after that. Here's the complete history: http://www.revisionsdaten.de./datenbank/datenbank.php?af=111&T1=232+629-6&ID=6966 The other Märklin model (the DB Cargo edition) has a similar history: http://www.revisionsdaten.de./datenbank/datenbank.php?af=111&T1=232+658-5&ID=6993 She was sold to Poland and can be seen today: http://www.bahnbilder.de...~East-West-Railways.htmlBest regards Søren |
