Sorry but I don't know where to post my question? I ordered the Red Rail Bus 95.9 (Mar 39952) from the lokshop, but I got the reply that Maerklin has stopped taking orders for this item. What makes me mad at myself is that I waited until a good period time so see if the model was a success before ordering, only to find the ordering was closed. Yet the 39095 is still available. gene 39952 ordering deadline 31 August 2016. Check log in your club profile. 39095 to non Insider members maybe about 100 qty few months ago but few left with price high that RRP on ebay today. I look at lokshop found none. I guess insider members order total 6,398 qty of 39095 BR95 by end of April 2016, Marklin order to production enough 6,500 qty (102 to non insider). |

gene Both of these models were only available for Insider Club members to order. Some shops do have phantom club members so they can order extra models that they sell on the open market, and some have members that do not order everything, yet the shop will order everything on their behalf, and sell the extra items to non-members. I am aware that my Insider membership has been used in this way at least once. If you want the new 103 electric loco that is being offered to Insider members the order form has already been sent to members and needs to be return by some time in April if I remember correctly. I don't know what criteria you use to determine if a model is a 'success', but if you do that then you will miss out on a lot of items, as most shops will only place orders on the factory for pre-orders they get from customers. Some may order a little more for items they regard as likely to be popular, but then risk having stock sitting on the shelf tying up capital that they could be using to buy next years items, so they don't tend to do this.

KW Thanks for the heads up for the new 103 being offered. I almost forgot. It should be a real prize. I'll have to check my insider issues for the coupon. My current dealer of choice got kicked out of the MHI program,  so I have to go to the lokshop, etc.  I really don't have any objective criteria for any Marklin model except does it run and run well. If it looks cool, then I'm in. I'm just a sucker for Marklin. Unfortunately, I have never sent a insider coupon in for a model even though I have the 20 year pin from Brenda sent to me in 2013. In the case of this rail bus, I got a good objective lesson handed to me. I mostly use the lokshop as first and last resort, but it didn't work out this time. As it is, I better not order the rail bus, cause I have the Orient express set (Ma 26922) with other stuff coming in this week. Lokshop are showing a 20196 C Track piece as a 2017 new item. Their description is that it is a transparent C track, but the 20xxx track parts are used for the blister packs of C track, although I note that 20197, 20198 and 20199 are transparent 188mm, 172mm and end pieces respectively.
But I can't get a decent description of the 20196 as the description appears to have been truncated. It looks like it could be a curved track, but why one would want a transparent one of those I don't know.

Lokshop advised me that I don't need to send the forms to them, they only need my Insider Club number and the 3 digit verification code that is on the form. That, plus an email confirming which items I wanted (I don't want the TEE coaches or Z Gauge items).
