Hi all together, I am new here as of now, I am form Germany and am currently building a 1/35 scale BR52 locomotive from 1944. The basis for this project is the Trumpeter kit 00210 with all it's flaws and problems. I have travelled all over the country, had special photograph appointments at museums and archives and have compiled a huge stockpile of information over the past 2 years. So far so good, however I want to make this kit move, i.e. I need to build the whole transmission system myself or rework it massively in order for this to work. I have drilled the holes and everything into the wheels and axles, but now I am am wondering if anyone here might have done this before with any type of engine? I will add a few pictures of the engine in general so that you know what the thing looks like as of now and the wheels as well. Almost current status    The wheels as they are as of now:  The smoke box:  As most of the kit is useless and wrong, I scratched the tender almost completely, except for a few small parts.  Including some interior where it could possibly be seen.    I am now off, reading through some of your builds and threads! Call me insane but in this day and age I wonder if there would be some linear motors that would fit the piston housing and provide the perfect propulsion.

Hmm, interesting idea. Ok, the front of the tender is empty, I could hose sth in there.
Or between the fire mox and the smoke box, there is a gap of approx 8cm long and 5cm diameter.. There are no pipes in this section as it is 100% invisible. Maybe I could house sth there? I am a total novice to these electrical power things, need to check in Conrad maybe? I wil try and upload an update and info tonight, thanks for the input and help there. The cylinders are already detailed and CA glued too much, I think it is too late for this awesome idea :(

Heyho, a few update shots...      Well, I need to chop the frame apart again... After closer inspection of some manuals, I came to the following conclusion: Cutting up the smoke box support and then cutting apart the frame.  *1) As this is what the kit looks like:  The above is for the plate frame, the Sinsheim engine is a bar frame, but yet, the mountings are similar and rounded! It is further towards the centre, though but this can be neglected for now.  Before I went for the frame cuts (I will do so now) I had added some more bits/prepared somt. I modified the rear frame and changed the whole fire box support layout as it is junk. Hi together, it has been a while and I was idle but not in full hibernation... I managed to get some things done and as time has progressed, the kit has changed... The Russian manuals do have helped along the way, as did my visits to various BR 52 locomotives all over Germany.    And it is now ready to be bolted up:  I hope you are having a great week, Prost.
