Hi, i have just ordered a Piko sncf bb66000 diesel. It has a decoder, but im not sure what the decoder is like in this loco. But i did wounder about fitting a Marklin diesel sound decoder. Would they be suitable!! I know that the Piko loco does not have MFX and so i will have to load it on myself, if i am to leave it as it is. A bit of advice on this would be great. |

Hi!
Current Piko sound locos have mfx, but this one does not. This loco may not even have a decoder socket, but soldering a Märklin decoder to the loco should be no problem. I don't know if this loco is prepared for sound. If it is, then finding a suitable speaker may still be a problem. If it is not, then finding room for the speaker could be a bigger problem. Maybe you find a NEM 652 decoder socket inside the loco. |

Hi my piko loco arrived today.👍 There appears to be no room for a sound decoder, although it does have a NEM pocket to plug and play. Do Marklin do plug in MFX decoders with light functions and braking delay? If so what's the number please😀 |

Package includes an eight-pin plug. Just solder the cables to the plug and plug the decoder in. MS2 owerns can disable mfx in the MS2 to program the decoder using DCC. Once programmed, you can re-enable mfx in the MS2 to have the loco register automatically. ESU sell mfx decoders with factory-installed plugs. |

Hi I put a Marklin decoder 60982 in a PIKO BB25559.* Lights don't light on, and at very low speed the lok functions hesitantly. Is there any parameter to change ? I have a 6021 and a central station 1. Thanks

Hi!
When the 8-pin plug is inserted the wrong way then lights won't work.
You can start a test run with the 60982 decoder so it will try to adjust load regulation to the motor. Just check the decoder manual. |

Hi Thanks for the answer. How can the motor lok run if the 8 pin plug is inverted ? The red and black wire are connected to something wrong ... It shouldn't work at all .. No ? Vincent

I have tested my Piko sncf bb66000, I selected DCC on my mob station, it runs very well on Marklin K track. Just for those who would like to know. It runs happily over K track curve points and over the double slip as well, without stopping. Also there are plenty of speed steps. |

Vincent The connections on the plug have been carefully worked out so that inadvertent reversal of the plug doesn't destroy the decoder, So the motor wires always connect to the motor and the track wires always connect to the track. But the side effect of this is that other connections that are less important don't work if it is in the wrong way around, but they are not destroyed.
