A beatiful lok but I have a question...is it a real or fantasy livery?

"Das Original gibt es bei Märklin."
DB didn't have any blue BR 01 locos. But only very few blue Märklin steamers have had real prototypes in era III. Still they seem to sell well.

MHI convention locos are made in small quantities and they will not waste a really attractive prototypical configuration for such a loco.

Tom

It is a beautiful model, though isn't it?

It's fictional, and Marklin don't claim otherwise. I already have the Br03 in that colour otherwise I might be tempted...

BR03, three of them were blue Cool

Nope, not BR 03. There were three blue locos of BR 03.10, not BR 03.

And the blue ones were non-streamlined and with the old boiler. Märklin never made the correct mould for such a BR 03.10.

The blue locos Märklin made marked as BR 03.10 either use the mould for the BR 03 or the mould for the BR 03.10 with the new boiler.

BR 03 is short for BR 03.0-2 and refers to locos 03 001 through 03 298.

Perhaps we are going out of thema, yes I know, this is my page about the BR03.10
http://www.marklinfan.net/drg_br_03_10.htm
With the Roco model too.
About the Märklin moulds we can write a book, better to keep quiet
However, the BR01 is a fake, but beautiful BigGrin

For Baggio:

"As a special feature, the three 03 1014, 03 1022 and 03 1043 located in the Dortmund Bbf depot were given a steel blue paint job on the driver's cab, the boiler and the cylinder blocks in June 1950, while the smoke chamber and chimney remained black." (per google translate)ThumpUp
