Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out what type op screws will fit the Marklin 7009 portal, for instance.
And all other types of that range for that matter.

The portal whole in it's base, is alot smaller than the M rail screw hole.

I just can't find any information on this anywhere.
Anyone here knows what type I need?

Regards, Steven

Don't screw the masts down. It will cause all sorts of problems. The masts need to "float" a little bit.
The clip under the M-track is plenty strong and you can bend it slightly to adjust the cat wire to the center of the pan.

I know we all do things differently. I remove the clip on under track part of each mast. I know this is probably not good for resale eventually but I have

never liked the way it rises up the track a bit and makes things a bit wavy. To me it looks much better without them. I screw the masts down

with a C track screw. In the "old" days I used an M track screw. They work fine. Peter Cool

Well, I don't plan on using the M rail foot all together.

My table will tilt up, so I really want to bolt them down on a small spacer piece of wood. This piece will be the same height as the M rail foot ofcourse.

I want to be able to change the look and feel of the layout by change the catenary (remove or re-apply).
Screwing down the masts will give me the strength I need for tilting the table and I can remove the masts, straight up, leaving the smallest "whole" in the scenery.

Thanks for the help, I will pillage my local trainshop soon for some screws BigGrin

Hi

I used the M track screws as well on my masts.

I didn't find anything suitable in my hardware store so stuck with the M screws.
