Hi all, I have shifted this topic from the Quiz section, because I think it will be of general interest. Please add any information here on Maerklins' use of the "bicycle" logo in modern times (perhaps last 20 years) but there are no hard and fast rules. As some of you know, Marklin have used various logos on packaging and products during the lifetime of the company. One logo introduced around 1930, was the so-called 6th, or "bike" logo. Here is a reproduction (the one on the right).  I have some HO scale Marklin die-cast products manufactured in the last 15 years, which still use this 1930 logo. The die-cast items were produced in various forms and colours since the year 2000. Some of these items have the 1930 logo in the casting, some simply have the word Marklin. Certainly one of mine issued in 2004 has the logo. If you have any items, any scale, produced in the last 15-20 years and that have the "bike" logo, I would love to see them too. Yes probably was, but I am asking about HO items.
I am not referring either, to the reproduction HO items, such as tin plate 24cm cars or the locos.

Kimball That make it a lot harder, If you want to leave the repros out then of the top of my head there is a refrigerator van which I don't remember what kind of edition was but it has printed all over the pattern of the old red boxes including the bike. I don't remember with certainty any now but some of the locos with advertising are good candidates to have it. However I see you specifically talk about die cast, I have only one and it doesn't have the bike but my last guess is that you are talking about the series of old fashion trucks of which plenty have been made and are not repros..

As I said this topic is open slather, so I figure the more items come up with the logo, the better. regards Kimball Mmm, how is that HO or die cast?  In that case many museum wagons qualify too. Here is one then there is the coin included in the 0050 set, while the trains are repros the coin isn't.

Markus Hi Markus, I do not own any of these, however possible that they have the logo. One more clue. The items I own, with the logo, are vehicles that come with a wagon. But there must be others. regards Kimball |

Hi all, Thanks for your input and the interesting ideas about the logo. I do own the little Lanz Bulldog tractor shown in this photo. It is the #46843 Lanz H10 tractor with crate released in the years 2001-2006, and it has the "bike" logo in the casting, underneath the chassis.  I have 3 more Lanz sets with the logo, and another three that just have the Marklin name in the casting. I am sure there are many more. regards Kimball |
