i have gotten my turntable to move back and forth after replacing the entire motor and housing with older working unit, yeah! Now I put it all together and run my analog loco through switch yard and the moment it is on turntable, it stops. i observe that the loco moves slowly till it reaches table, plus, on the yard side the loco will not reverse. on layout side of turntable everything works normally. the turntable itself has low miles, contacts look new etc. the motor was replaced due to hard oil syndrome, bad magnet, just easier to install known good motor. what should i look for to get the loco to complete the trip from yard to layout?

should i connect feeder track to yard side with another transformer, is that possible with AC?, or connect track from layout side and make yard continuous with rest of layout? (a challenge in geometry lol) Thanks in advance for the help!!

I added power to yard side and loco ran better, reversed and such. However, when loco reaches turntable, it just plain stops. I used my handy dandy multimeter, set to AC voltage and there is no voltage on turntable, even though the turntable is working back and forth. What should I look for on turntable? I thought the turntable was good but maybe my reassembly was defective?!!!

Maybe there's an unsoldered cable somewhere...look under the turntable. Or maybe sometjing is wrong with the joint piece in the edge of the turntable |

Ah ha, Now with a lok on the table and the traffo track power at about 1/2 get a pencil and put pressure on the three metal clips near the center of the bridge and see if the lok moves. If it does dust may need to be cleaned from the contact ring. The clips may also need adjustment. It is not difficult to get the bridge off from the table. Flip the entire assy over and remove the "E"- clip from the center taking care not to lose it. I have to do this to mine every few years or so. One day I will make a little cover for it to keep the dust out. Good luck Mikey |

Will wonders never cease, cleaned every contact with 91% alcohol and got intermittent contact with loco. duh me! cleaned track rails with rag and alcohol and voila, runs great. got to keep reminding myself to keep it simple, fix the obvious. at least the turntable is spotless, :)) thanks for the help

My dirty track never looks like that, where can I find some? |
Matt Era 3 DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control. With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397. |

I know and you know but they don't. For the time being they seem to be quiet and happy so let's leave them alone. Mikey |
