Cool! I wonder when we will see images/ a brochure?

37195 seems interesting, but i don't know what would be unique or new from the previous versions... (but a good idea to build more swiss steam hype surrounding the C 5/6 arrival)

I still don't have a V188, so the 37285 may be of interest.

Hi,
The 26194 Electro Triebwagen would appear to be a similar item to the Marklin 3683, which I have never seen.
It was produced over 20 years ago.
Pictured here courtesy of http://www.nordbahn.net/Maerklin-3683-DRG-ET-194-11-gruen-Ep2-ex-LAG

Hi Kimball,

Yes I remember having seen a couple of different versions of this in the 1990s. I think there was a grey one too.

Marklin email me that marketing department discussed the 39207 BR01.5 possibility to use a wooden box as packaging. An implementation is not provided.

Hi Steven,

Have you compared the photos of the new 39207 in the news brochure to the 39205/39206? The steps leading to the sandboxes on each side of the boiler, which are characteristic of the BR 01.5 but were NOT reproduced in the first versions, appear in the new photos of the 39207. Those missing boiler steps were the most obvious drawback of the 39205/39206, followed by the wrong appearance of the counterweights on the wheels of the 39206, but now Märklin appears to have corrected at least one mistake, if we can trust the new photos. That came as a surprise to me.

A few months ago I bought four German MRR magazines with tests of Märklin's BR 01.5, where all of this was explained in detail. One of them even had a comprehensive test comparing Märklin's BR 01.5 to Roco's. After having read all of that, I decided not to buy the 39205, but if the new 39207 has prototypical boiler steps and wheels, I might go for it.

Best regards,

Mark
Best regards, Mark

I like Märklin items produced in the 1960s or early '70s, but also digital locos & current rolling stock.

I don't think the motors will be different, but I'll have to disagree with you about the DCM motors.

I prefer modern can motors which give much smoother and quieter running.

A bearing conversion on this loko is very easy. It makes a world of difference with the DCM motors.

Era 3
DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe
But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs
ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control.
With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397.

I love my quality can motor loks but at the same time I really value the strong reliable operation of a DCM motor. I am thinking that doing the bearing conversions Matt recommends would make my DCM loks just about perfect.

I love a long list of potential upgrade projects stretching into the future for my trains. Bearing upgrades on my DCM motors is now on that list!

Cheers,

Jim
