Hi

I have a new steamer on the layout - Prussian T3 (37144), and will try to write a review as a user. I have many steamers and thought it will be nice to have a little one and different this time.

T3 is a two cylinders wet steamer with coal bunkers on the sides and water tank below the boiler. The cylinders are coupled to the centre axle by rod. This version are from the second line with a steam dome.

The model is visual very nice with crisp lettering as usual from M. The front buffer point a bit down if you look close but I understand it is normal for this model. No problem for me.

The pick-up shoe is the long stiff old type. I always give this type a little concave bend for better performance- K track. No noise from it or the motor. It have only one tires and weight about 135 gram so traction has a limit. I have a 3.5 % grades on the layout and 3 2-axle wagons are no problem.

The sounds are ok - high, turned down 20%. It have surround sounds(some models type do not have it)normal steam sounds and brake sound that work and mfx +. Some CV adjustment are needed and after several hours on the layout it has become a very nice runner.

I was in three shops before I found my locomotive. The two first one had them in a display and when they was tested, they do not run properly. I do not know but I assume when they take them out of the box they bend the rods from the wheels so the wheels only turn half and stop- half and stop and so on. Dealer or M I do not know. The last as I got, was in a unopened box and I put on the test track myself. My advice - test it.

I like this little fellow, he do the job. Can't say that about all my purchases from the last years, several returns to dealer.

I put together some clips below.

All the best

Very nice little steamer, Torstein! ThumpUp

I have the Era II version of this loco which came in a set with some coaches (26555).

When it was new I also detected the problem of the wheels binding slightly as they rotated. Thankfully this went away after I ran the loco for a while and now the motion is nice and smooth.

It's nice to see yours chuffing around on your layout. It has a lot of character for such a tiny loco! Smile

I have an older version of this loco and it is one of my favorites. I run it quite a lot as it looks good on my small era I layout. I've been tempted to purchase the newer one that you show here as it has sound, however, I like my warm white (almost yellow) lights on the one that I have.

I like the open windows on your building.
