RARE Z GAUGE MARKLIN ELLMAR BRITISH CLASS 47 LOCOMOTIVE BODY TO FIT MARKLIN GERMAN CLASS 103 CHASSIS (NOT SUPPLIED). THESE MODELS WERE PRODUCED IN THE UK BY ELLMAR AND WERE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR A SHORT TIME IN THE EARLY 1980'S. THE LOCO BODY ARE AS THE FACTORY MADE THEM, UNPAINTED. THIS IS AN UNUSUAL MODEL AND WILL MAKE AN INTERSTING ADDITION TO ANY Z-GAUGE LAYOUT OR COLLECTION. UNBOXED.

General Information

After collecting model trains in the smaller scale (O, OO/HO, N & Z gauges) for over 30 years I’ve decided to now concentrate on model engineering rather than model railways. As a consequence I will be selling off many items from my collection over the coming months. These include many rare models from Marklin, Hornby, Dublo, Triang, Rivarossi, Peco and Graham Farish to name but a few. I shall also be selling some 2½ inch gauge (63.5mm otherwise known as Gauge 3) items that are surplus to my model engineering collection, including some very rare Bassett Lowke, Carette, Mills, Milbro models, plus a couple of vintage live steam locos. Most of the models have been stored in a dry place at ambient temperature for many years and are generally in very good to excellent condition. When put away the electric mechanisms of the locomotives all worked but some may now need some Peco Electrolube oil to help bring them back to life because of the long period of non-use. I’d like to see all my models go to good homes and should you win one in the auction I’m sure you’ll be pleased with it. However, in any event I offer a ‘satisfaction guaranteed’ policy. On postage I try to assess the cost of postage and packaging as accurately as possible when I list items so you know the ‘fixed price’ that I will charge. If I get it wrong and don’t charge enough, I stand the difference. If it’s the other way you do, but you know what its going to be and I find its the best way to streamline the despatch of items, especially for overseas purchases.

I hope that you find something of interest to you. Good luck with your bidding.

Best Regards

Reidmere .

The Elmmar class 47 looks great. I was not aware that these existed. It is too bad the company stopped making them. I can see a real demand today.

By the way, those interested in British Z scale, the September/October issue of Ztrack Magazine will have a number of articles on British Z scale. We are working on the issue with the help of Z Club G.B.
