Hi! Smile

I saw the thread made by Monster from South Africa some years ago on how he made water effect using toilet paper and glue. I understand that he picked the idea up from a user on the German Stummi forum. I have tested this method and now also used on my own layout to make water in my harbour.
I think this method is close to fool-proof in getting a good and realistic result, so I thought it was a good idea to spread this method by making a video tutorial.

I hope you like it.

Martin,

Now I am less afraid of modeling water. This one has always bothered me, I have seen many methods but never could get a good result in trials. I'll have to see if this method will work with some adaptation for creating a small river/stream.

this is a good basic design and method and could quite easily applied to other application as Brandon suggested or his adaption to small river/stream and it may inspire me to add the waves or obstacles in the river bed such as rocks and improve the overall look to increase the intensity of flowing water by helping it with Martin's toilet paper design, it could be another good way to take it further.

Hi Martin,

This is a very good tutorial on what seems quite a simple process, I'm sure you've inspired a few people to give it a try.

A little off-topic but may I ask, did you do the narration of various segments as well as the personal introduction? (I am assuming both are yourself)

I only ask because the voices are very pleasant and relaxing to listen to. It's always interesting to me how non-native speakers of English sound and I have found some to be more natural than others, for example for me personally, I have always found English when spoken by Dutch people to be very easy on the ear.

Well done.

Ohh! Blushing Thank you!
Yeah, sure it´s me all the way. For the narrations I use the built in microphone on the video camera to get a good "live feel", but the "voice over" during the making of stuff is a Shure Broadcaster. All speach is run through both exciter filters, equalizer and audio compressor. I have no script. I improvise when the camera is on. A rather make a thousand re-takes, than Reading a script.

Well now I will add the Swedes to my list, my Dentist is Swedish also and sound very similar - mind you he would need to be given the unique position of trust you place in your Dentist Scared
