I needed to fix the loose center axle boss in the Märklin 7286 Turntable. That required removing the bridge including the motor and gears. I must have missed something when putting everything back. The bridge won't rotate until I push the lever under the bridge outwards for a second. This is the lever that disengages the gears if you push it inwards. Anyone here familiar with the matter? Thanks, Juha |

Hi Juha,
From what you describe, it seems that the little spring that pushes the motor assembly against the teethed edge around the bridge hole is missing. This is if you hear the motor but lt is not driving anything. Note the spring can clearly be seen on your pics so it the motor assembly moving freely?
The other point to watch is that when putting back the bridge, it must be guided vertically so that no contact blade is bent. This is if you don't hear the motor. I use a tooth pick in the center screw to make sure I guide the bridge vertically. Cheers. Jean |

Juha, Is it possible that the metal armature of the motor is spinning within a cracked primary sprocket? To test this theory try gently turning the armature with your fingers while applying resistance with your other fingers on the large sprocket which engages the circumference of your turntable.

Thanks everyone for the help, specially Carlos for the link to perhaps the most extensive M turntable study ever! My Spanish is lousy, but I punched the link in to Google Translator. I was able to troubleshoot the turntable and locate the problem. The solenoid was not pulling the long metal actuator rod far enough to start the motor. To get by, I cut a piece of 0.4 mm styrene in the slot where the solenoid lever is pulling the actuator. That removed the end play and extended the travel. Keep on shunting, Juha Originally Posted by: carlos.rivas.16752 http://www.trescarriles.com/rotonda-marklin-7286.html
