I am not sure if we have been insulted or complemented but the ultimate geek, Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory has a train set, a Lionel one to be precise. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

He was convinced that 0 was better (of course) but returned home with a H0 starter set (a bit ashamed). But hes favorite scale seems to be 1:1! |

I am only an occasional watcher of the series so I was not aware that there had been previous episodes involving model trains. I was in fact going by a bit in the Lionel Facebook page for an episode that went out yesterday. Bob M.

Yes, but any publicity is good publicity. I'll cling to that. I can't recall seeing any other model train references in recent television programs. Oh, there was Doug Hefernan's father in King of Queens, who belonged to an O scale club. I don't recall that it was such a bad portrayal. But that was 10+ years ago.
