Another great toy for big boys I also have Scalextric track and some 150-200 cars but for the lack of space everything is stored to boxes now. In 2002 we had a 24h LeMans race with 70's cars equipped with front and rear lights. Track was 24 meters long with 4 lanes so four teams could participate. It was a great race where 6 hours were in total darkness. Åke

I used to have scalextric in the 60s and had many hours of fun with it until it was packed away some years later. When Miss 16 was very young I managed to get it out of storage, but the track was rusted and the plastic crumbled away. So we then invested in AFX. That's when we learned that FD is the biggest slot car cheat in the world. When her car comes off the track she places her knee on the track to make sure that no other cars pass her until she is ready to go again.. SO! I think that the biggest improvement needed in slot car racing is a big red button that sends 10,000 volts through any anatomy that touches both tracks and causes the owner of said anatomy to lift off the track.. So that the race can resume.. |
