Hello all,
I"m ordering from http://www.euromodeltrains.com/. I see that for a pack of 20188 or 20172 it costs 14.99 dollars. This pack contains 4 pieces. Where as individual track costs 2.99 USD. That means the 20188 or 20172 is costlier than individual track costs summed up.
Am I saving on shipping cost when I buy 20188 instead of 4 24188s?

The thread said no difference between these two: https://www.marklin-user...c-tracks-24xxx-and-20xxx

Thanks in advance.
Madhu

No, you probably wont save on shipping. Just keep looking around for the best prices. Dont try to apply logic! ;-)

The 20188 is a 'blister pack' of four 24188 pieces, likewise 20172 and 24172. Marklin have packaged track pieces in small quantities like this to help children cause their parents to make impulse purchases of track to expand their start set.

A 'blister pack' is where you have a clear plastic piece containing the items and a cardboard back to it, generally with a hole in it so it can be hung on a shop display - typically done for small quantities of AA and AAA batteries, as well as many other items.

I suspect the reason for the higher price is that they can buy a box of 10 track pieces and sell them individually resulting in a cheaper price per piece because they buy a lot of boxes of track. On the other hand they probably don't sell many of the packets of 20xxx series packs.
