Hi everybdoy I have received one new M84. Four V4011 will be connected on this M84. All my Marklin circuit will be controled by Itrain ( good software) . I would like to ask you some questions and please excuse my reduced knowledge of the digital Above all, I have to say that Marklin is miserly of its explanations for the assembly(editing) of its electronic products. It is not obvious to understand(include) One m84 accept 4 signals. 1- Please, is it possible to have a plan of connection? 2- I do not understand the principle of the addresses such as described in the textbook? 3-I shall have 4 M84 and of what have I need to connect(bind) them together? Thank you a lot for your answers hoping that my English was understandable for you The wolf |

Hi Serge, 1) I don't know M84, but I'm very familiar with K84 and I've tried to mimic the K84 behavior. The following schema should answer your query about a connection plan: If you don't have a light transformer, the "yellow" wire should be plugged to the "B" distribution plate. 2) About the addressing, the easiest way is to use "MM" protocol, until you're familiar with CV handling. To use the MM protocol, set the DIP switch 10 to OFF. Then decide which block of 4 consecutive addresses (base address) you want to use for M84(1). For instance, let's suppose you want to use addresses 41-44. In such a case, set dip switches 1, 2 & 4 to ON (see page 24 of the manual) Also as stated in the manual, if you don't use "hobby" signals, then set the switch (8) (see manual page 21 ) to OFF. For the 2nd M84 and further, choose another base address, each of them being different from each other... Beware: When setting DIP switches, NO power is mandatory ! 3) the schema provided shows already 2 M84 plugged together. Hope I'm not wrong... Cheers Fabrice

Interesting point! Maybe worth mentioning that earlier M84s (60841) did not have this switch. The latest manual is dated 1114 (Nov2014) so I presume these new types have been shipping since then. |
