Croc pulled through Lund C tonight... The trusty old DA 820 we saw in Ystad pulled this one too... |

There is eg a certain Aussie musical ensemble playing both AC & DC where this sign is frequently used by the audience attending their performances....

Too many post to thank them all, so let me say it here, thank you! I am quite envious.
A special loko, unique in all the world. Steam engines, diesels and electrics, once you get a common power source, all seem to come from the same mold. Yes, there are differences between the various types of lokos and steam is a treat to see operate and they remain my favorite type of loko, but there is not a single electric that looks like this electric. It is one of a kind. |
Matt Era 3 DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control. With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397. |

Has somebody stolen the front road number plates (on the cab between the windows) or were they screwed off as a security precaution?

Somebody made an annotation on another list that the number plates and lamps were removed so that they couldn't be filched as it moved through Germany and Denmark. Must be those scrap metal thieves they are scared of, couldn't be railway enthusiasts ...

All the guys I have met who have been involved in this project have been extremely kind and helpful all along. Both the Swiss and Swedish guys are true enthusiasts... There are some of them I have met in all places I've been so far - Ystad, Malmö and Eslöv, always positive and helpful when you ask them something... The VolldampfTV video crew members who have followed and documented this trip have been great to talk to too... Climbing the croc, inspecting the cab and talking to the guys handling it was a lifetime experience that will be remembered the rest of my life... Please continue to post pictures, videos and Croc in Sweden news here in this topic... Edited by user 11 September 2015 18:38:11(UTC)

The croc 37564 is also 14305, but is blue, not green. The croc in the set 31100 is a specific commemoration of the trip that is happening to Gävle. In the figure of the croc in the fall new items brochure it seems the croc has 14305 in the body, but the text in english says: "The Märklin name and the item number are in relief on the locomotive's center part." The item number is not the locomotive number, so probably it will not have the 14305 but probably 31100...

Hi Miguel, The remark about the item number is in the description of the Swedish Da, and it's visible in the photo as well. As for the Crocodile, the text mentions the road number as well as the item number. Probably the item number will be on one side, and the road number on the other side of the central part of the locomotive. The text clearly says that it's 14305, and the photo shows the same road number. Best regards, Mark |

Excellent pictures Per, I believe at least one of the Swedish riveted coaches pulled by the croc was in Ystad about a week ago too... Obviously, Märklin has sponsored the green Da repaint so the 31100 set is credible as a model too... Was the croc "open for inspection" at the event? As far as personal planning goes, and the schedules are kept, the 16th in Malmö again and the 19th in Ystad - maybe even pics of it boarding the ferry will come.... |

Obviously, they were screwed off as a security precaution - they are back on at the 100-year event in Western Pacific's pics... They probably were in the grey goods wagon, as the lights were before they got mounted in Malmö for the show. |

Aha, so you were the one with the camera on the other platform - I wondered if the pics would look good from there due to the fence, but it looks very good. My Eslöv pics are earlier in this topic... @Alberto, you started my croc fever since you gave me a tip on Facebook about this trip - Thank you! @Martin - simply excellent... |

The Crocodile left Stockholm today (September 15th) at 13h13 (scheduled departure 13h08). I managed to get a few pictures with my mobile phone (Sony Xperia Z1 Compact) in the rainy weather that characterized Stockholm today. There was quite a large crowd at Stockholm C with cameras and phones taking pictures of the departure. First though, the latest addition to the collection of the Swedish Railway Museum, SJ Rc1 1007 from 1967 - the first in the series that also has 1010, prototype for Märklin 3043. 1007 is re-painted the way it looked in 1978: The Crocodile at track 10 at Stockholm C: The train and here the coaches of the SBB Historic trai seen. Further back in the train are, i believe seven Swedish coaches - I lost count - and at the end SJ D 109 (prototype for Märklin 3170, 3670 and 3171), but nothing of the Swedish part of thr train at the end can be seen due to the curve of the track: Departure with SBB Ce 6/8III at the front. Later there will be changes due to the fact that Swedish rules stipulate that an engine without functioning ATC (Automatic Train Control) must not be used for more than 200 km per day and not at speeds above 80 km/h, but that is no problem with the Crocodile having a maximum speed of 65 km/h. This means that Rc1 1007 will take the lead later today: The train is due to arrive at Ängelholm on Wednesday at 22h09. It will be used for some extra train there on Thursday before being made ready for transport via ferry Ystad - Świnoujście, a short stretch through Poland and then via Germany back to Switzerland.
