Hello, I'm plaaning to convert my V80 model into a sound model, using the D&H SD21A-4 with the great new V100 sound projekt. However, there is not much space and yes, there will be the new 36082 with full features incl. sound released this year. But, I want to have the better D&H decoder and therefore, here my first impressions, how the decoder could be placed into the loco: Not much space, it will become a bit tricky. To be continued... Edited by user 10 August 2015 10:09:32(UTC)

In meantime, I decided to use an PluX16 decoder, because it is much smaller. I choosed the new Doehler&Haass SD16A-4 PluX16-Sounddecoder. The PluXinterface board is from Uhlenbrock, it is a PluX22 71680: Additionally, I took a stripboard to connect the Uhlenbrock interface board and to hold the motor in position: The speaker is an 11x15 Zimo speaker, also available from different suppliers. I mounted a small sheet of aluminium above the cardan shaft and glued the speaker with the small sound box on it. And this is how the V80 with Doehler&Haass SD16A-4 PluX16 Sounddecoder and DB V100 Sound project sounds: Video: |
