I notice the Exclusiv Modell kits sell for a serious premium at eBay.de. Can anyone tell me why? |
Matt Era 3 DB lokos, coaches and freight cars from across Europe But I do have the obligatory (six) SBB Krocs ECoS 50200, all FX and MFX decoders replaced with ESU V4s, operated in DCC-RailCom+ with ABC brake control. With the exception of the passenger wagens with Marklin current conducting couplers, all close couplers have been replaced with Roco 40397. |

Hi Matt,
Yes, I notived that too, some exclusiv modell kits do fetch € 250 - € 300, probably because they are super collectible.
Faller prices can be sky high, but usually that's for the 1950 and 60 kits or for 1950/60 'Fertig modelle'. (models built by Faller home workers).
It's how you look at it, compared to 'Creglinger' or 'RS Spitaler' model buildings, Faller is cheap !

Marco Back in the 90's I purchased some exclusiv kits. First was the Foundary B-981 in 1984 In 1985 came Ferris Wheel B-311, this one included the lighting for the gondolas. At the time I did not realise that this was to be the first of a long series of Fairground/Circus kits to be released by Faller but the wheel is the only one I got. It is an extremely fragile item and really need This line of products noted a distinct new line of products for Faller and coincided with other changes going on in the Company. 1986 I got the awesome Cathedral B-350. I also have the "The Bridge on the River Kwai" B-568 re-release of the 50's kit but I don't think this was an 'exclusiv' model as such. All remain un-built and even then they were quite expensive. Hi all The only exclusiv model I have is the BMW dealership. I bought it new and it will remain unbuilt. I haven't looked to see what they are now going for as I don't intend selling it. |

At one stage I was so exasperated with the company I worked for I was going to tell them I was going to go and work at the BMW dealership I owned ... course I wasn't going to tell them it was at a 1:87 dealership ...

Never really seen the point of an unmade kit. A kit is intended to be built and enjoyed either on its own or on a layout or diorama. I can understand that a rare kit might cost you more to buy because of the principle of supply and demand, but I would never consider buying a kit for it's potential future value. I would be too tempted to just go ahead and build it! |
Ray
Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.
