My dealer brought mine to my layout for a bit of a running day. Everything to seemed to be working fine after I adjusted the speed, sound, and braking delay using my CS2. After making a couple of trips around my layout the locomotive defaulted to a crawl speed, even though the CS2 showed it should be moving at the max adjusted speed. Did a factory reset, made a weird electronic screeching sound when doing so, but once again it worked for a short period of time and defaulted back to crawl speed. Tried a second 37870 that he had with him and noticed that the sound was wrong. It sounded like the diesel rail bus, and two of the functions; short whistle and sanding function did not work. Anybody else out there having similar decoder malfunctions with this model? |

I heard this before: loco ran out of (virtual) sand and allows crawling only. Refill the sand and it will run normally again. Probably a firmware bug - sand should not decrease and should not matter when Playworld was not activated. |

In case you were wondering, this is a feature of the new mfx+ decoders. You should be able to turn this off in the loco's properties on your CS2 - check the loco manual for details.

Thank you for the information. Now to retrieve that lok from my dealer. I will be happy if I can get it working such that I don't have to worry about the on board resources. |

Got the lok back. Took it out of Spielewelt semi-pro mode which it defaults to according to page 6 of the manual when first put on a layout with CS2 software ver 3.7. All is good. |
