Märklin 6080 old "mouse piano" decoder wiring help needed

Hi all, I have an old Märklin 3313 DB BR 75 steam locomotive with this old Märklin 6080 "mouse piano" decoder. I messed up with the brown wire and it got loose from the decoder itself and I don't know where it should be soldered. I can not find a photo of 6080 decoder from the decoder itself to see where the brown wire should be. Thanks for help in advance! I have still other locos with this very same 6080 decoder so I could see there if I will not get answer from here. Another option could be to put it back to analog with reversing unit or to get another better decoder for it. The best option would be to buy Märklin 26542 train set with Würt T5 and some nice old wagons. That one would run much better anyway... Maybe I buy that one and put this one back to analog... Cheers, Janne |

Hi again, Now it is back in running order and works like it should. This loco runs with very high speed vs. speed setting from the controller for some strange reason. Strong motor and very high revs. It is almost impossible to run it with slower speeds. This one has ball bearings like my other DCM type motor locos. The wiring and soldering looks now so non-professional that it is good it has those ball bearings = no need to remove the loco body and see my "quick and dirty" wiring/soldering . Cheers, Janne |

Hi Janne, my 3312 (same as 3313 but in KWStE green) runs very nicely with a Marklin 60760 conversion.
The 6080 never really improved the running qualities of analogue locos, and in fact some models run worse with the decoder than without. Changing the motor to a 5 pole with permanent magnet will transform the slow speed running, and even a basic decoder like the one included in the 60760 set gives you smooth, quiet and slow running. |

Mostly Marklin.Selection of different eras and European railways Small C track layout, control by MS2, 100+ trains but run 4-5 at a time.

Hi Ray,
Yes, that 60760 is a good choice with a 5-pole motor for this 3313. I may install this kit later or another option could be to sell this one with a fair price and buy that 26542 train set. It has a T5 K.Würt.St.E. with mfx decoder and nice wagons. Beautiful era I set and not too expensive. I have SNCF 3413 BR 131 TA 3 (black) and 3412 K.Würt.St.E. T5 in grey livery. Both of these have Delta decoders and are based on this same 3313 loco also.
Cheers, Janne |
